Капитан лорд Джордж Грэм в своей каюте

История
Graham had just come through a sharp little action at sea, three British ships against a squadron of French privateers, and the British came off well. In 1745 he wanted a picture of it, and Hogarth gave him almost the opposite of a battle. We are in the great cabin afterward, the captain settled back with a lit pipe while the ship's chaplain and clerk sing and a servant plays music for them. Hogarth could not resist the jokes. A dog sits in a wig striking the captain's own dignified pose. And behind the whole party the steward, grinning straight out at us, is quietly tipping a boat of gravy down the chaplain's back.
