故事
Munch was 34 in 1898 and spent most of that year between Berlin and Paris, working on the cycle of pictures about love, jealousy and death that he would later show together as the Frieze of Life. When he came home to Norway he painted people he knew, for money. Marie Helene Holmboe was married to Halvard Stub Holmboe, a friend from his childhood in Kristiania. He set her in a deep upholstered chair against a background cut into two flat bands, dark clothes, pale face and pale hair, and nothing else in the room at all. The marriage was over by about 1900.
