基督复活

故事
In 1495 the Benedictines of San Pietro in Perugia commissioned Perugino to paint the altarpiece for their abbey church, and this Resurrection was one of the small scenes in its predella, the low band of pictures running under the main panel. Christ steps out over soldiers who have slept through the whole thing, a compact version of a subject Perugino had already worked out at full size. In 1797 the treaty signed at Tolentino, after Bonaparte's campaign in Italy, sent works from the papal states north to France, and the polyptych was taken apart for the journey. The Ascension from its centre went to Lyon and hangs there still, while three of the predella scenes, this one among them, were passed on to Rouen when Paris distributed seized pictures to provincial museums, and they have stayed together since.
