Apple Trees in Eragny, Sunny Morning
Details
The story
Pissarro had lived at Eragny, a village on the river Epte north of Paris, since 1884, and the orchard beside his house became one of his most constant subjects. He returned to it across the seasons and the hours, and this is a clear morning among the apple trees, worked in his loose, flecked late manner. He finished the canvas in 1903, the last year of his life. He died that November in Paris, at 73.
