The story

When researchers from Delft University of Technology studied this room during the museum's renovation, one of their open questions hung above the doors. Pellegrini certainly painted the ceiling, the two overmantels and the four grey Elements. Did he also paint the six round flower pieces, or was a local flower painter brought in? The museum no longer gives them to him. It lists them as formerly attributed to Pellegrini and names nobody in his place. In this one, just below the centre, a pink and white tulip droops over the edge of the bouquet.
