L'histoire
Cecco del Caravaggio is the name given to a painter who worked in Rome in the early decades of the 17th century and was one of the most important early followers of Caravaggio. Some art historians have identified him with Francesco Boneri, though this attribution is not universally accepted. In his work he responded in a highly individual and original manner to Caravaggio's naturalism, distinguishing himself from other Caravaggisti of his era.
