ストーリー
April 1877, an apartment at 6 rue Le Peletier in Paris. The group put on its third show and for the first time printed the insult on its own poster, Exposition des Impressionnistes, taking over a word a critic had thrown at them three years earlier. Berthe Morisot hung 12 works. She was the only woman among the exhibitors at that point, and the one member who could not spend her evenings in cafes and dance halls hunting for subjects the way Degas and Renoir did. The inside of a house was what she had, and she used it hard. A woman in a white morning gown sits at her dressing table powdering her face. Between 1876 and 1894 Morisot painted about 20 of these scenes of women at their toilette. This one came to the state in 1937 in the bequest of Antonin Personnaz, a collector from Bayonne, and went to the Orsay in 1986.
